Why Lumiere Carpet Underlay with Memory Foam?
"Underlay is simply underlay, any old underlay will do, right?" WRONG!
Put quite simply, the better the quality of underlay that you put under your new carpet, the longer your carpet will last under normal circumstances.
There are lots of cheap underlays out there, but with those, low foam density means that when walked on, the underlay is squashing down to a fraction of original thickness, resulting in increased stress and strain on the fabric, therefore reducing the serviceable life of your carpet.
Lumiere is a premium quality foam underlay manufactured using a unique blend of hand sorted premium white foam and high quality memory foam to bring both greater consistency and beauty to the world of underlay.
It is this premium quality white foam core that makes Lumiere stand out in the world of luxury underlays – but it also delivers a practical benefit to the customer as using a hand sorted foam blend incorporating premium memory foam helps to deliver a consistently luxurious feeling underfoot.
With a thickness of 10mm. this underlay is suitable for use throughout the home, including stairs. It is also very easy to install.
It really is important to use a good quality underlay if you want to get the best out of your new carpet and to keep its' new look for as long as possible, something that simply cannot be achieved with cheaper lower quality underlays.
With a plush underfoot feel, Lumiere is an investment that will save you money in the longer term, as your carpet will last longer.
This underlay has been developed having a superb thermal insulation of 2.49 tog, together with ultimate sound impact reduction of 44dB. A super high density core featuring memory foam, provides outstanding support for your carpet, to enhance its' serviceable life and to keep it looking great, for longer.
Lumiere has a pliable top and bottom surface and does not rely on a noisy paper backing, as do some underlays. Guaranteed for the entire lifetime of your carpet when laid from new, Lumiere exceeds British & European underlay standards.
This is a perfect quality product and like for like, has a price tag that will beat shop prices for any similar quality underlay.
Lumiere is manufactured in Full Rolls of 15 square metres (11.00 x 1.37 mtrs) but is also available in Midi Rolls of 10 square metres and Mini Rolls of 5 square metres, to help reduce potential wastage.

How much carpet do I need to order?
Always allow at least 10 cm above the actual room size, to allow for trimming and to ensure a snug fit.
How accurate are carpet sizes supplied?
Lengths are supplied to at least a minimum of the size ordered, but can occasionally be a little longer if there is a suitable stock piece to satisfy your requirements. Widths, however, are subject to a manufacturing tolerance of +/- 1.25% and this should be taken into account when calculating what size to order.
How much underlay do I need?
Sometimes less than the amount of carpet needed. This is because when ordering a carpet you would normally choose the appropriate width available and there may be a little waste. But underlay is meant to be cut and joined, you can therefore order an amount closer to the actual size of the area.
How do I join underlay?
It is always best to tape joins to avoid movement, both during and after installation. A cloth single sided tape is best, but a budget priced tape will often suffice.
Which way up do I lay the underlay?
If there is a printed side, then this is usually laid uppermost. If there is no printing, but one side is relatively plain and the other side coloured, it is usually the plain side uppermost. If the underlay has a paper backing, this is laid uppermost.
